All aboard!

You already know Capital MetroRail is a great way to get to your brewpub, but the schedule has probably been holding you back. We’ll, that’s not an excuse anymore!

Capital Metro is running late hours service of the MetroRail every Friday in March, and special service on two Saturdays (3/12 and 3/19) as well. We’re extremely excited to have more transit options our patrons, and encourage everyone to check the full schedule for the details.

We’ve always been committed to alternative transportation, especially when enjoying the products we make here at Black Star Co-op, so we’re going to go one step further and sweeten the deal even more. Ride the MetroRail to your Co-op, present your valid ticket at the bar, and we’ll take $1 off all pints of our house beers. This offer is valid for the entire month of March, so you don’t need to wait for one of the special trains to enjoy your brewpub.

  • Is the discount also for monthly or special passes such as the ACC Green Pass? How about a discount for AHA cardholders to help raise awareness for folks visiting from out of town:

    • Todd,

Our interest is in getting people to ride the train to the pub, so 7 and 31 day passes are fine as long as they cover the train as well (i.e. “MetroPlus” and “Regional”, not bus passes). Regarding the other transit agreements Capital Metro has, we unfortunately don’t have the capacity to verify that someone’s UT, City of Austin, or other ID is valid to ride the train. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

As for other discount programs, we generally avoid any specials targeting a specific group. This initiative is a special opportunity with Capital Metro for the month of March, and especially SxSW. Beyond that, our own member-owners take first priority over members of other organizations for any perks we can offer.

  • Just to be clear, the Austin Community College Green Pass is issued by Capital Metro. Here’s more info:
