In theory, we will soon be entering fall. A magical time of year where trees change color, the weather cools down, and we can start eating heartier meals again. For us on the Kitchen Team, this means that we’ll be tweaking our Rational Menu to reflect the change in season.
Last year, we offered the veggie and chicken pot pies for the cooler time of year, as well as the roast pork shoulder. This year, we’re looking into running vegetarian and chicken options of pub curry, a nod to an old British pub fare standard, and a nice departure from last years pot pie.
We’ll also be looking into running shepherd’s pie, and bringing back a roast pork shoulder dish to replace the ribs currently on the menu. We really enjoy the flexibility of our Rational menu, and the local seasonal offerings of our area.
Some of our local producers have really struggled during this record breaking swelter and drought. Hopefully this fall will bring cooler weather and some much needed rain to alleviate this terribly epic drought. We’re always excited to see what our farmers and ranchers are producing, and we’re looking forward to a great season here in the kitchen.

Bring back the vegetarian pot pie!
Johnny Livesay says:
Hey Michael,
It was a hard decision not to bring the pot pies back as a Rational menu item, but look for them on the Irrational menu as a seasonal special. If you like, you can send your contact info to the Kitchen Team, and we will notify you when they make an appearance. Sorry for the disappointment, but I think you will be pleased with these new items.

How about some goat dishes? Goat curry or a goat slider?
