Are you a design savvy individual with a soft-spot for beer, food, and co-ops? Black Star Co-op is looking to finalize our branding and this begins with a new/altered logo. So, in particular, we’re looking for submissions of Black Star Co-op logos from our member-owners. As a co-operative, we like to pull our ideas from within. Here’s the deets:
- Design (draw, paint, construct, illustrate, etc.) a logo for Black Star Co-op
- Be creative. It doesn’t have to have a star, doesn’t need to be black, can be abstract, or not!
- The logo should be indicative of our unique organization. Feel free to use concepts from the co-operative principles, beer concepts, food concepts, Austin concepts.
- Keep in mind that logos will probably be used for the larger branding of Black Star (used on merchandise, colors will be used throughout the space, signage will resemble the logo)
- Be unique!
- Please, file size needs to be less than 5MB
- Design committee (which you can be a part of!) will have the ability to tweak, alter, or use specific features of all submitted logos
You can send your designs to jeffy@blackstar.coop or bring them to the next graphic design meeting on April 14th. We will use the “design charette” format for deciding on the final the logo. This means we’ll look at all the potential logos as a group and discuss what we like, don’t like, or how we can pull elements from different logos to synthesize the final design. Even if you don’t submit a logo, everyone is invited to the design meeting.
